Serving the twin objective of supporting the local startup ecosystem as well leveraging the startup talent to enhance the delivery of citizen-driven schemes and e-governance, the Government of Rajasthan launched the program, Challenge for Change.A key highlight of the program is that the startups get to bid for a Government contract without the need to adhere to the standard tendering process.
The registration process is completely online. You will be required to create a Rajasthan Single Sign-On Account (if not registered before) using your Jan Aadhar or Bhamashah or Facebook or Google account.
To develop a healthy and supportive ecosystem in the state, the Government of Rajasthan has waived off the traditional mandate i.e. prior experience, minimum turnover, requirement to furnish details regarding earnest money deposit and so forth. Everyone with an innovative idea is encouraged to take up the initiative and attempt to solve society’s current pressing issues.
No, a working prototype is not required to submit an idea. The Government of Rajasthan lays greater stress on innovative ideas that can fuel change and play a vital role in empowering Rajasthan to be the ‘Digital-sthan’ of the country.
The Challenge for Change is a dynamic and ongoing process, for specific challenges there are pre-determined dates of submission.
Yes, a startup can apply for more than one challenge. However only one application shall be accepted for an active challenge.
The Government of Rajasthan regularly publishes problem statements and invites startups to submit their innovative solutions. Post submission, an evaluation committee assesses the solutions, adhering to the guidelines and conditions of the problem statement. If shortlisted, the startup will be asked to deliver an in-person presentation elaborating the technical aspects as well as feasibility of their solution.
Also, the winning startups have the chance to receive a direct work order of up to INR 1 crore from the Government of Rajasthan.
For any startup, Challenge for Change is a one of its kind opportunity to work alongside the Government of Rajasthan. They will not have to deal with the traditional and challenging tendering process, instead they get to by-pass and work on creating a commercially viable product that could solve the citizen centric issues of the state.

No, a startup need not be registered on iStart Rajasthan in order to apply for challenge(s) listed on Challenge for Change platform.
However it must be approved on iStart Rajasthan before the actual work order (as applicable) is extended to the selected startup(s) under this initiative. Thus being registered on iStart can be advantageous during the selection process
The winners of the Challenge for Change will receive invaluable mentorship and guidance from some of the most experienced professionals in the industry and additionally get the opportunity to participate in large scale events. They will have a one of its kind opportunity to participate in bootcamps, pitching sessions and most importantly, have a direct interaction with senior government officials.
