The first-ever Code-From-Home Online Hackathon by Government of Rajasthan was organised as part of Challenge for Change – a flagship contest by Rajasthan’s Department of Information Technology and Communications. The hackathon invited coders, developers, designers, or someone who enjoyed hacking for good to showcase their skills.
The Online Hackathon opened at 6 PM on July 6 and ended at 6 AM on July 8, 2018. Of the overall 36 hours, the teams had to mandatorily code for 15 hours, whenever comfortable for them. It was open to participants from across the world. The organisers looked for ingenious ideas on these 12 themes – Bhamashah, e-Mitra, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, AR/VR, Blockchain, Machine Learning, Data Warehouse, Tourism, Bioinformatics, Big Data and Data Mobility.
The contest gave startups, professionals and students the opportunity to partner with the state government to enhance the effectiveness of e-governance initiatives through technology. The participating won prizes like iPads, Tablets, Laptops, Mobiles.
