Challenge Detail

State-wide Implementation of Agristack — Unified Digital Agriculture Ecosystem

Agristack, the Government of India's Digital Public Infrastructure for agriculture, envisages a federated Farmer Registry, land-record linkage and Crop Sown Registry. State-wide roll-out requires interoperable data exchange across multiple State departments and central platforms.

Existing Issues & Gaps

  • Fragmented data across Revenue, Agriculture, Water Resources and Cooperative departments.
  • Incomplete farmer data registry and absence of a standardised consent-management framework.
  • Interoperability gaps with central Agristack APIs (Farmer Registry, Crop Sown Registry, Geo-referenced Village Maps).
  • Low digital literacy and connectivity constraints in last-mile rural areas.

Expected Outcomes & Desired Solution

An end-to-end Agristack roll-out framework comprising a State Farmer Registry linked to land records (DLRMP) and Jan Aadhaar, standardised data-exchange APIs compliant with the India Digital Ecosystem of Agriculture (IDEA) framework, a Consent Management Layer aligned with DPDP Act requirements, and an offline-first farmer-facing mobile application for registry self-verification and scheme linkage.
